BJP, RJD, and the Nitish government have all used the ‘BiharSong’ in their campaigns. The BJP version speaks of development and investments in educational institutions and startups. While the other versions of the BiharSong are about politics and the state, the BJP’s version makes no such claims. It has only been used by the BJP since it is a stronghold of the region.
Both the BJP and the JD(U) have released campaign songs in the Bhojpuri language. The BJP’s song, ‘Bihar mein ee baa’, highlights the achievements of the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar. The BJP’s song is about two minutes and 35 seconds long. The song is a response to another popular Bhojpuri song, ‘Neha Singh Rathore’, that criticises the NDA’s performance, the deteriorating law and order situation, and the state’s attitude towards migrant workers.
Earlier this year, the BJP and the JD(U released a ‘Bihar mein ee baa’ in Bhojpuri, as a response to the ‘BiharSong’ by the NDA. Neha Singh Rathore’s song ‘Bihar mein ee bana’ (Bihar mein ee baa) criticises the NDA government’s performance, the deteriorating law and order situation, and the state’s attitude towards migrant workers.
The former DGP has come out of retirement and adopted a new persona. The ‘BiharSong’ is a reincarnated form of the Bihar police department. The CBI has launched an inquiry into the allegations. This investigation has been initiated by the Bihar government and the Rajput family. The accused have since been found guilty and the government has sought a CBI investigation. This probe has led to the resignation of the former DGP.
